Google Ads can be one of the highest-ROI channels for a window treatment dealer — but only when set up correctly. Most dealers who say “Google Ads don’t work” are actually running campaigns that were never optimized for their specific business model.
The biggest mistakes I see are: targeting too broad of a geography, using the wrong match types, sending traffic to a generic homepage instead of a dedicated landing page, and not tracking phone calls as conversions. Fix those four things and most campaigns turn around quickly.
Performance Max campaigns are now the default in Google Ads, and they require a different approach than traditional search campaigns. You need strong creative assets, clear conversion goals, and enough conversion data for the AI to optimize properly. Without those, PMax will burn your budget.
The good news is that window treatments are a high-ticket, high-intent product. When someone searches “custom blinds near me,” they are ready to buy. That intent makes Google Ads worth the investment when the campaign is built right.
