WTMP News & Updates
January is typically a slower month for both window treatment and awning companies, especially (and obviously) in the northern half of the US. Google Analytics reflects this across most of our clients, although we saw a slight uptick at the trailing end of the month. Hopefully, that’s a sign that 2022 will deliver us another good year.
We’ve heard from a few WTMP clients that home shows will be a part of their marketing efforts this year after a 2-year hiatus. It’s crucial at these shows that you have a solid plan in place to get leads and not to close sales.
More Updates
Late last year we completed the rollout of our new WTMP Email Boomerang system to all of our Outshine clients, and it has been a profitable update for them. Some clients are closing deals as a result of that system, and their newsletter lists are growing at a high rate as well. Email Boomerang is available as an add-on to the Foundations and Scale packages, and I’d highly recommend it as one of the more essential things you consider when at those levels.
In January, WTMP also signed a partnership with America’s Window Covering Buyer’s Network (AWCBN) to offer their members some fantastic deals on marketing. If you’re not yet a member of that program (affectionately called The Network by its members), you can check it out here—some great discounts across the top vendors in window treatments.
Last month, I committed to raising money for St Jude’s Hospital by riding my bike 200 miles. It was a challenge, but I was able to complete it on time and raised over $600. About 125 of those 200 miles were done outside, in January, in the Midwest. Cold but fun!
Marketing Strategy For February – Brand Exposure
Brand exposure means just getting eyeballs in front of your company name and logo. It’s not about direct lead generation (although that may happen occasionally), it’s more about people remembering your brand over your competition when they become prospects/buyers.
As I mentioned earlier, home shows are a big opportunity for you to get your brand out in front of potential customers. If you have a booth, try putting the table at the back to make the booth a bit more inviting, and of course, give out a few branded freebies. Consider doing one or two this Spring and use it simply for brand exposure and lead generation event.
Many of our WTMP clients are also ramping up their Google and Facebook ads. Some are also dabbling in YouTube retargeting ads, and they’re seeing good results – in some cases $.01 views! Check out this video we made for one of our clients. He supplied us with the audio, we did the rest. If you want to do this for your ads or social media, reach out to Rian and we’ll get the ball rolling!
February is also a good time to get postcards into homes – another brand exposure opportunity. Some clients are reporting that print ads continue to disappoint, so be mindful of those costs vs running ads online and make sure you’re putting your money to the best use.
Last, this is a good time to be considering sponsoring a few local events like trivia nights, bingo, and high school fundraisers. Again, it’s all about that consistent brand exposure!
